Giving Back to the Community
Trek2Kili has always valued the importance of community development and contributing to the improvement of health, education, career development, and advocate for conservation of our precious natural resources.
FOOT2AFRIKA is among one of local NGO recipients. Through their diverse program offering we are able to provide assistance in the following ways:
Education:
Continual improvement of various school facilities and providing much needed resources such as book and uniform donations, resurfacing of the football field, and current plans to expand overcrowded classrooms. As education is the key to all children’s development and success, we are able provide a brighter future for these well deserving students.
Health:
With our extensive network and contacts, Trek2Kili organizes series of medical assessments throughout the villages in Tanzania. As a result hundreds of patients are now able to receive much need surgeries and gain access to continual medical care.
With malaria death rates particularly high in the rural areas of Tanzania, mosquito nets are crucial in reducing the number of infections and we are proud to sponsor and participate in a net distribution program as well.
Conservation:
Not only is a healthy environment vital to the sustainability of the tourism industry, the team at Trek2Kili believes each one of us has a personal and communal obligation to look after our planet, wildlife and natural resources.
Much like the rest of the world, deforestation has had devastating effects on the local wildlife and habitats here in Northern Tanzania. We support carbon credit programs and reforestation programs with Green Tanzania. We focus on promoting the importance of sustainability to tourists and educating the local communities, ensuring that a positive legacy is established and maintained.
